About the Artist
"Understanding that art is not just my calling, but my passion — it was made clear to me that my creations are to be shared with the world."
Damali Ahsaki is a visual artist whose work lives at the intersection of identity, liberation, and memory. Raised in environments where her presence was often erased, she found her voice through paint, paper, and the bold language of visual expression.
Her compositions span acrylic on canvas, mixed media, collage, and graphite — each piece an act of celebration, resistance, and offering.

Limiting the celebration of my Blackness to one month is not enough; every day is a day to celebrate. I choose to do so in how I present myself — and in how I create.
Damali's work is an act of daily devotion. Her compositions explore the fullness of Black identity — not as a response to erasure, but as a declaration of presence. Drawing from personal memory, cultural inheritance, and spiritual intuition, each piece becomes a living archive of what it means to exist boldly.
She works across mediums — canvas, paper, found material — letting the subject choose its skin. Many of her pieces are available as prints and originals, meant to live in homes and spaces where they can be felt.

"It took quite a bit to identify myself as an artist. Even in having freed myself through visual expression time and time again... it was made clear to me that my creations are to be shared with the world."
